A 2 Day Gorilla Trek in the Volcanoes National Park in Northern Rwanda. This is one of the shortest trips to the mountain gorillas in the Virunga Region of Rwanda.
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Arrive at the Kigali International Airport. You will meet our safari guide and after a briefing session, transfer to Kigali for a city tour. Visit the genocide memorial museum, the Nyabugogo market, handicraft shops, the Moslem quarter in Nyamirambo and the Franco-Rwanda cultural centre. Have lunch and then transfer to Parc National des Volcans in the northern part of Rwanda. The journey northwards takes 3 hours on a smooth road that leads you to the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes. Dinner and Overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury), Le Bambou Lodge (Midrange), Kinigi Guest House(Budget).

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
After an early breakfast at the lodge, report at 0730hrs to the Parc National des Volcans Headquarters in Kinigi office for registration and formalities with parked lunch, Then drive on the edge of Parc National des Volcans. Briefing by the park’s guides on how to behave once in presence of the Gorillas, There after enter the park for Gorilla tracking. Your trek will vary in length and will commence at about 2000 meters of altitude in the upper slopes of the Volcanoes National Park. Soon you enter the forest. After locating your assigned group you will spend one hour in their company while taking their photos before retracing your steps down the volcanoes.
After the trek, have lunch at Kinigi. Embark on a return trip to Kigali and be dropped off at the Airport or preferred hotel.
