Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our safari guide and transferred north on a scenic drive through Rwandan countryside to Ruhengeri township in the foothills of the Virunga volcanoes.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
After an early breakfast at the lodge, report at 0730hrs to the Parc National des Volcans Headquarters in Kinigi office for registration and formalities with parked lunch, Then drive on the edge of Parc National des Volcans. Briefing by the park’s guides on how to behave once in presence of the Gorillas, Thereafter enter the park for Gorilla tracking. Your trek will vary in length and will commence at about 2000 meters of altitude in the upper slopes of the Volcanoes. Soon you enter the forest. After locating your assigned group you will spend one hour in their company while taking their photos before retracing your steps down the volcanoes.

Day 3: Drive to Nyungwe National Park
After breakfast, you will head to Nyungwe Forest, passing through magnificent hills and cultivated countryside; we will stop along the way and visit the famous King’s Palace in Nyanza, which offers visitors a window into pre-colonial Rwandan history. On arrival at Nyungwe, relax at the lodge while you wait for chimp tracking the following day.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking
Early start tracking for the chimpanzees, this can take anything from a few hours to a full day depending on where the chimpanzees are. It should be mentioned that it is not guaranteed to see the chimps as they are unpredictable and can move long distances in one day. There are several other primates in Nyungwe such as the Rwenzori colobus, L’Hoest’s monkey, Silver monkey, Owl faced monkey and the Grey cheeked Mangabey. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Have breakfast at the lodge and later drive back to Kigali to be dropped off.
